Disable Meet tab in Gmail app on Android and iOS
A few days ago, Google integrated its Meet video conference platform into the Gmail application on both Android and iOS.
Each user can see a large tab on the bottom side that displays both Messages and Meet.

On Android
- Inside Gmail, click on the three-line hamburger menu in the upper left corner.
- Scroll down and then click on the "Settings" option.
- Once opened, click on the account in which you do not want to see the "Meet" tab.
- Under the "Meet" subsection, disable the "Show Meet tab for video calls" option.
On iOS devices
- Inside Gmail, click on the three-line hamburger menu in the upper left corner.
- Scroll down and then click on the "Settings" option.
- Once opened, click on the account in which you do not want to see the "Meet" tab.
- Under the “General” subsection, disable the "Show Meet tab for video calls" option.
- You should follow these steps for each of your accounts as there is no way to disable them for all accounts at once.
What the "Meet" tab does is that it opens a new page where users can start a new meeting or join a new meeting.
The video calling platform Google Meet was restricted to G Suite users until last month when Google announced that it would reach all users.
